JONNY WALKER CLAIMS HIS SECOND VICTORY OF THE YEAR

BRITISH EXTREME ENDURO CHAMPIONSHIP - ROUND 3 - H20

After some 20 days break it was all set to compete the British Extreme Enduro Championship’s 3rd round at the H20. Overall 106 competitors were on the grid but it was the Championship class which attracted the most.

Round 2 winner Jonny Walker was hot and took the early lead. He pushed hard at the first laps and built a gap over 4 minutes. This gap helped him to ride a safe lead as it was getting tough with the last laps. This was his 5th race after he returned from the injury. Walker seemed comfortable with his performance and getting better and better every other challenge. He secured the victory by 2’39” clear from Travis Teasdale. He also scored the best lap by 13:57.788, some 10 seconds quicker than second best lap scored by Travis Teasdale.

P2 finisher Travis didn’t have the desired start and felt uncomfortable with the first laps but from lap 4 on he increased his pace and took his second consecutive P2 at the British Extreme. Eurotek KTM rider had P4 at the round 1, Tong.

Jonathan Richardson was in second place after the first lap but having a crash and making some mistakes at the fast sectors of the track he finished with P3. He was followed by Super Enduro Junior class leader William Hoare (P4) and Charlie Frost (P5).

Post-Race Comments;

Jonny Walker

“It was a good race, perfect track and weather conditions. Managed to get the lead early on and pushed hard to open a gap of around 4 minutes. Last few laps were tough as I was cramping but happy to take the win.”

Travis Teasdale

“I had a good race, the first few laps I felt not comfortable at all but from lap 4 on I was feeling really good and managed to maintain the pace I wanted to. The track was dry but the hidden roots and rocks were really very slippery in the forest. I am happy to come home in 2nd position.”

Jonathan Richardson

“It was a super fast race Yesterday down at H20. I rode well at the start but then found myself making mistakes and losing time on the motocross track. I had a huge crash mid race and was lucky to get back up and carry on! Happy to take 3rd place again after that race. It’s not my specialty the speed but was really good for me to keep progressing!”

Charlie Frost

“I had a half decent start and took my place in the mid pack on the 1st lap. After that I got a stream crossing wrong and dropped to dead last. But came to the big hill in the woods and jumped into 5th position by making it to the top as most of the other boys attempted it but failed and had to take the long way round. I then fought through arm pump for a good half hour, hitting every tree stump possible. Once the arm pump went I pushed hard for 2 hours, sometimes even riding out of my comfort zone, but held down 5th position to the chequered flag. Was mega pumped to have made it to the top 5 in the 3rd round of the British Extreme Enduro Championship in a packed line up of top class riders.”
